I found this via another dance mom's Facebook. I find it very helpful. It keeps me informed and sometimes I pass things on to our studio.
ReplyDeleteAwesome web site with lots of excellent information!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your posts! They are extremely helpful and educating!! Keep them coming! I learn from all of them!
ReplyDeleteYou have my vote Diana! Thanks for offering wonderful content and being a great blog and twitter buddy! I look forward to your posts in 2013 + our little collaboration! :)
ReplyDeleteSo we're totally competition in this contest, but I seriously love your blog. All your posts put a smile on my face, and I always find myself agreeing with what you have to say and sharing your posts with my dancers. Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteI found this blog through a post on LinkedIn a while back. I am a high school dance coach and I have found many of the blogs to be useful in passing on quick but insightful information to my students and their parents. I especially liked the bogs dealing with eating disorders. This is an issue with so many dancers and it was great to see something written specific to a dancer and how it affects them.
ReplyDeleteI love this blog for many reasons but the holistic approach to the art form of dance is among the top reasons. Dance is an intregal part of my life and it's equally important to my daughters, The Healthy Dancers has helped us all to understand the many moving parts of dance, the body, nutrition, body image and injury's in a way that makes it safe and still keeps us passionate and moving! Dance is for everyone not just dancers and that message is clear. Good luck, you sure have my vote!!
ReplyDeleteLove this blog! I teach dance in a public high school and its messages are clear, concise and great for my students and myself.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I both really enjoy this blog. A mini book club of sorts. It creates an opportunity for us to discuss what we've read and learned. Finding a door with a 13-year-old where there are usually walls...priceless!!
ReplyDeleteI love how The Healthy Dancer combines science and dance. Always an excellent read.
ReplyDeleteVery informative! Got my vote. Sharon
ReplyDeleteVery well written and informative, both for the professional and the novice. I look forward to getting them.
ReplyDeleteThis blog fulfills a void in the world of dance forums, keep it going!!!
ReplyDeleteLots of useful and interesting information...thanks for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us!
ReplyDeleteThis blog is very informative & quite enjoyable to read. You got my vote!!!

ReplyDeleteI love this blog because it really helps me to keep my body healthy when I dance! I miss having you as a teacher, but this is a good substitute!
ReplyDeleteA great resource for students, teachers and parents. It's well written and very informative. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!!
ReplyDeleteLove that you address all aspects of what a healthy dancer is and should be. Great job.
ReplyDeleteAlways a fabulous resource for dancers, parents and teachers. You have my vote!
ReplyDeleteI want to vote for The Healthy Dancer blog for many reasons. First of all, the specific focus on health, which I haven't come across before. A dancer's life is tough and injuries and early retirement are commonplace, more or less considered part of the trade. But dance is a passion for life and this blog makes an important contribution to keeping dancers healthier, by keeping this focus in such an inspired way.
ReplyDeleteSecond, the topics are relevant for all genres, styles or "confessions". I have recommended it to colleagues practising ballet, tango, contemporary, bellydance, salsa, etc etc.
Last but not least, it is well written and well researched.
Regards from a devoted reader in Sweden :-)!
Great blog with a wonderful focus!
ReplyDeleteVery informative! I hope in the future we get more biomechanical explanations!
ReplyDeleteWell, not only do I like this blog because you were my dance classmate at Goucher, but because it addresses the need for dancers to be their own physiotherapist, nutritionist, psychologist, trainer, teacher and more. It gives dancers and dance teachers like myself the information we need to dance stronger and longer (kinda like the book) and help our students to do the same. Keep up the great work and good luck in the contest!
